Samantha Bernard
The video below is of the last dance of our 2016 show which is dedicated to the memory of Samantha Bernard, fondly known to all of us as Sam. Sam sadly passed away on 13th May 2015, after contracting meningitis.
Sam was a massive part of our DDA family and was always a pleasure to teach. She had a bright and bubbly personality and would always have us all laughing in class at her stories or antics that she got up to! She has been greatly missed, however is never far from our thoughts as the students still talk about her stories or her quirky little ways of remembering dance routines.
In Sam’s memory we choreographed a number to ‘With You’ from Ghost the Musical, which was performed by DDA students both past and present who came together to remember Sam. The girls all danced together for many years and certainly found coming back together an emotional yet rewarding experience.
